LUNAR ECLIPSE – SEPTEMBER 16, 2016

What will we experience with this eclipse, which is in the Pisces/Virgo axis according to the sidereal zodiac?

Pisces represents the 12th house which is our subconscious, it’s also the last house in the zodiac and represents that which is hidden to us, confinement, release and endings. Virgo is ruled by Mercury which is our analytical mind, this configuration is indicating our minds release. Virgo is also the sign of healing as it’s the virgin with the shafts of wheat crossing the water to deliver healing medicines and potions. This is showing us that with release there’s great healing available to us.
The earth is shifting consciousness and so are we. The earth will release its new consciousness energy at the time of the eclipse and it will further anchor in our consciousness. We will be feeling a total and full release of the ego mind. This eclipse is giving way for the heart to take over. Our hearts are anxiously awaiting this event putting us into a state of disbelief and wonderment about what is about to take place.
The stakes are high now. We must perform from the heart as ego mind will create pain and turmoil for us. The ego mind is collapsing and flattening its holographic representation of our reality.  We in turn are moving into the heart to create. This wonderment is the journey within which is a requirement of the heart transition.
We are currently in the 2 week doorway in between eclipses at the time of this writing, basically our doors have been blown wide open so that we can access all the stuff in our subconscious that is creating a reality that doesn’t align with our hearts desire’s. Use this time wisely; journaling, releasing, past life regression, etc… because this doorway is bringing stuff to the surface that usually is buried deep in our subconscious mind for the sole purpose of releasing it.
With this final eclipse of the season we are going to be pushed inside of ourselves like never before. If we haven’t been clearing out, we may not like what we find there. The journey within is how we will connect with our inner selves for the heart to reflect who we truly are. The heart will begin reflecting what’s hidden there, it will not be pleasant for many because many will be ashamed and afraid that others will see their darkness. The smoke and mirrors of only showing others what we want them to see will be over, we will not be able to control what other people think and feel about us with the illusions we’ve built, they will get a good look at who we are. Do you like what’s there? Do you know what’s there?
I’m showering everyone who reads this message with love! My intent is giving everyone strength and courage to journey within because it’s about to get deep.
Love & Light,

Saul Leiter photography

It is my youngest daughter who is a keen student of Interior Design that introduced me to the work of Saul Leiter.

Leiter (1923-2013) started his career as a painter at the age of 23, in New York. His photographs reflect this taste of the fluidity of color as well as the intensity of the pigment which make you doubt whether you are looking at a painting or a photograph.
He first used a 35 mm Leica. He photographed everyday life, he played with raindrops and immortalised some beautiful fashion and women in the pages of Elle, British Vogue, Esquire and Harper's Bazaar.
His pictures are so modern and "now" that I firmly believe that many a tumblr photogrpaher took after him. Which is of course a good base to build on.

More of his work here and here

Jonathan the 182-year-old giant tortoise from St.Helena, the oldest land creature currently living

Would be very interesting to know how many miles he has walked in his lifetime – 2 maybe?????!!!!!! On St.Helena, the tropical island in the South Atlantic Ocean there are five giant tortoises, one of them is Jonathan. Jonathan (hatched c. 1832) is a Seychelles giant tortoise  that lives on the island of Saint Helena, a British Overseas Territory in the South Atlantic Ocean.
Even though, virtually blind from cataracts and has no sense of smell, Jonathan as 182-years-old, may be the oldest land creature currently living on the planet.
Jonathan was brought to the island from the Seychelles in 1882, along with three other tortoises at about 50 years of age. He was named in the 1930s by Governor Sir Spencer Davis. He continues to live in the grounds of Plantation House, the official residence of the Governor, and belongs to the government of Saint Helena.

His possible age was realised when a photograph was uncovered from a collection of Boer War images showing a tortoise next to a war prisoner around the year 1900. On 5 December 2008 the Daily Mail published a story claiming Jonathan is the same tortoise pictured in the photograph.

Jonathan maybe  the oldest land animal currently living, but other tortoises have lived longer. The all-time verified record holder for the world’s oldest tortoise, according to Guinness World Records, is Tui Malila, who died in Tonga in 1965 at the age of 189. Adwaita, an Aldabra giant tortoise that died in 2006 in the Alipore Zoological Gardens of Kolkata, India, is believed to have lived to the age of 255 years but this has not been confirmed.
Harriet  a Galápagos tortoise who had an estimated age of 175 years at the time of her death in Australia in 2016,  was reportedly collected by Charles Darwin during his 1835 visit to the Galápagos Islands as part of his round-the-world survey expedition.
In February 2014, as part of the Queen’s Baton Relay ahead of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, the baton visited Saint Helena and Governor Mark Capes, whilst holding the baton, posed for a photo alongside Jonathan in the grounds of Plantation House.

BBC Radio featured Jonathan in an episode of From Our Own Correspondent in March 2014 after ocean rower Sally Kettle visited Saint Helena. The Saint Helena five pence coin has Jonathan on its reverse.

As at December 2015 Jonathan was reported to be “alive and well”. “He’s blind from cataracts, has lost his sense of smell, and so cannot detect food (his fellow giants mug me and can detect the tiniest morsel dropped on the ground), but he has retained excellent hearing.

Creative hands at work

Elena Votsi's shop in Hydra

Elana Votsi is a Greek jewellery designer. She is famous for her clean circular, state of the art designs.
But to me, her creations are most of all soul-filling, giving our meaning and satisfaction.

She was first chosen in 2002 by the Olympic Committee to revamp for the first time the medals since the Amsterdam Olympic Games in 1928.Her design, featuring  the Greek goddess of victory, Nike, descending from the sky to place a laurel wreath on the winner’s head in the middle of the Olympic stadium in Athens, constructed for the 1st Modern Olympic Games in Athens, in 1896, with the Parthenon in the background-remained at the front of the medals for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and for all Games to come.

Votsi, born and working on the island of Hydra, off the coast of Athens and Piraeus,
has created jewellery for the
the Greek National Gallery
the Museum of Cycladic Art in Athens and
She also works with international power houses of fashion,

Sonia Rykiel: The Queen of Knitwear and Stripes goes to Heaven

Iconic French fashion designer Sonia Rykiel died today, at the age of 86 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Rykiel died at 5 a.m. at her home in Paris from the effects of Parkinson’s, her daughter Nathalie Rykiel said in a statement.
Rykiel launched her own fashion house in 1968 buoyed by the Swinging Sixties craze in London.
She had made her breakthrough in 1962 with the so-called "Poor Boy Sweater", a garment designed for women, that had long sleeves and a shorter, fitted shape.
The "Poor Boy" met resistance at first, but all that changed in December 1963 when Elle magazine featured the 19-year-old French pop idol Francois Hardy on its front cover in a stripy red-and-pink Rykiel number.
Then Brigitte Bardot and singer Sylvie Vartan were photographed in Rykiel sweaters and Andrey Hepburn herself went to the shop and snapped up five of them.
Rykiel was born in the upmarket Paris suburb of Neuilly in 1930 as the eldest of five daughters to a Romanian watchmaker father, and a Russian mother.
In 1954, she married a clothing store owner, Sam Rykiel, with whom she had two children and whom she later divorced.
Within the French fashion industry, Rykiel will be remembered as an original who helped cement Paris and, in particular, the Left Bank, as the capital of French Couture.
French President François Hollande offered his condolences to the fashion legend’s family and loved ones, calling Rykiel a pioneer who “invented not only a look, but also an attitude, a way of living and being”.
The Socialist president also said Rykiel’s style, “will remain a symbol of her remarkable work with colour and nature, fluidity and light.”

“She invented not only a look, but also
an attitude, a way of living and being”.

Thank You, Sonia!
