Fashion Friday: Dinh Van Jewellery

Dinh Van is a French jewellery maker of easy to wear, elegant lines of bracelets, rings, pendants and earrings, made in gold and precious and semi-precious stones.

The firm was established in 1965, and opened its first boutique in 7 rue de la paix in 1975.
Jean Dinh Van is the son of a Chinese jeweller, purveyor of Chinese laquered jewellery to the prestigious Cartier firm.

His trademark square lines bring to my mind the rebel, simple yet not so innocent 1970s.
His is the kind of jewellery that women can buy for themselves almost without guilt.

His fans include Mme Ines de Fressange, who makes a special mension of his work in her must read
Parisian Chic: A Style Guide by Ines de la Fressange

Here is a view of his Parisian shop windows

(March 2011)

The piece I like most from his current collection is this signature "Menottes" in pink gold.
Whatever we do, let's do it with style. Every day.

Merci, Mr. Dinh Van.

I am linking my post to Fashion Fridays.

love, Irene
