Athens can be a beautiful city, if you know where to look. Plaka is one of those places where you may walk and see both the ugliness of modern developments, and the beauty of a past that spans from the Classical Antiquity to the 19th century, past the dark ages of Medieval occupied Greece. And, dare I say, beauty wins!
