There is something so cheerful and happy about
red and white,
flowers and checks.
Don;t you think?

Capsule living

Hus-1 is a small house designed and built by Torsten Ottesjö. The building was constructed on site. The idea is a dwelling as personification. The dwelling features convex walls which seam together with the floor creating both a sense of airiness and a naturally curved seating space along the sides of the interior. The structure is free-standing, so it can be moved anywhere; though the feeling is that it has actually sprouted out of the ground it rests on.

The 25 sqm house aims to provide a living space beyond understanding. It is supposed to fit, to enable - not to distract or cause attention. Hus 1 regularly houses two people all year round but visiting friends always have room. Kitchen, sleeping quarters, dinner table, hallway and other functions are well integrated on just 25 square metres of living space.

TORSTEN OTTESJÖ is an architect based on the Scandinavian west coast who conceptualizes, designs, and constructs the works you see below. He believes in complexity, improvisation, and functionality. Torsten wants to inspire a different sort of building - something more suited to human beings.

Inspired by denim

Cobalt blue is the colour to have around you this summer, whether in clothes or home decorations.
It is the colour of deep spirituality that helps you focus.
Try indigo and ultramarine, and feel regenerated.

Happy Monday with Lonny magazine

Hello, dear friends,

Happy start to the week!
I am sharing with you the absolutely beautiful pictures of the latest issue of Lonny magazine that I picked this morning.
What an amazing work these people do! They do their job because they like and enjoy it, and it just shines through!. Thank you, Lonny people.

There is so much to read in the March 2013 issue, which is a "kids' issue".
Let me tell you what I liked most:

I adore Nicky Haslam's home , Lonny Editor in Chief Michelle Adams Manhattan home, Interior Designer's Lisa Sherry Connecticut home, and an absolutely lovely Swedish home.

I have mixed the photos from all four homes, here, because they all speak to me. I hope you will enjoy finding them as you go through Lonny's pages.

*I want to thank Lonny for letting us copy their images. As always, I credit images as best as I can, and I find it very generous of them to let us bloggers share the beauty.*

Interview-Oh So Fine, Denmark

Oh So Fine is a graphic design studio based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Designer and founder is Mette Bonavent.

I was first drawn to Oh So Fine's Mother Earth female figures
and her folk art inspired birds.

Or, this is how I conceived them.
Is this what she had in mind creating them?

I believe that one of the most beautiful aspects of Art is that it is open to interpretation.
A work of art can trigger different emotions and make emerge different kinds of past images in different people's minds.
Isn't that wonderful ?

With these thoughts in mind, I set about asking my questions.
Here are her oh so fine answers.

~~~
1.How did you get started on Art?
I am actually a talented painter and earlier I loved to draw by hand. But a couple of years ago I fell in love with making graphic art using my computer. And now I hardly ever use a pencil anymore.
2.Apart from inspiration Art needs courage, I believe.
Do you think so, and where do you find yours?
I don't think creating art needs courage, but showing your art to other people can be quite intimidating, I guess.
3. How did you come about finding your artistic language?
I found my artistic language sitting in front of my computer. The moment I learned how to create vectorized graphics, I could express exactly what I wanted.
4.Your work looks to me very earthy and influenced by folk art.
How would you describe your sources of inspiration?
Basically I work with block shapes, silhouettes and graphic patterns. I am very much inspired by my childhood memories, folklore artifacts and the 50's and 60's style illustration and design. Also I tend to drag a lot of nature into my work; birds, trees, flowers and so on. It is very natural for me, to give my work a simple and scandinavian touch, no matter if I am doing papercuts, prints og wooden products.
5.What do you love most about being a creative person who exposes their vision to the public?
I am so fortunate to work with the thing I love most. And I do love everything about it! I love the whole creative process, from finding inspiration, to working with shapes, colors and materials, and to showcase the final design.
6.Any dreams that want to come forward?
I have many dreams! I would love to create a range of printed fabrics and illustrate book covers.
My next dream to chase is actually not far away - but still a secret.
Thank you, Mette. We look forward to be in the know of your future artistic ventures.
Romantic IKEA
Practical? Yes.
Low price? Tick.
Good taste? Most of the time.
But, Romantic? Glamorous? Hmm!
Think again!
Showing our love around us.
 I loved reading the following passage in the blog's header:
Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle,
and the life of the candle will not be shortened.
Happiness never decreases by being shared.
What a beautiful lady! Do you feel the same about blogging?
Wishing you happiness today and always,
love, Irene
