I know what my next home will look like!

It has been popping in front of me. Do I really?
Do I really want THAT simple?
THAT modern?
THAT different?
YES! I want simple, and bright, and clean.
I  WANT space allowing me to be ME.
MY next HOME has been popping in front of my eyes
here it is

Ah the shapes, the ligne, the simplicity of it!
I'd be light like a feather
and FREE to imagine myself

Then it was Kasey's photo
(one of my favorite bloggers who turned her life around, the same time my life turned and now is turning again!)

Followed by my one of my style icon's home
(the other one is Ines)
CINDY'S

Oh yes, I can do with a clean slate!

Trina Turk's Californian charm

A few years ago I purchased my first Trina Turk item, a scarf, from a boutique in Dallas. You know how I love scarves, well, I wore it probably every day that summer. It was Trina-Turk-scarf kind of summer, bright, carefree and creative.
That's how I'd describe her home in Los Angeles.

Her home: India Knight

There are people, ladies, to be exact, that reign lovingly in my heart.
India Knight is one.
Edith Piaf is one.

I have written about author India Knight's home before.
I absolutely love her style, her point of view, her writing.

My Life on a Plate will remain forever on top of my list of feel-good reads, and I highly recommend it.
Neris and India's Idiot-Proof Diet: A Weight-Loss Plan for Real Women  is amazingly encouraging ang liberating from guilt and feelings of inadequacy.
Her latest work Comfort and Joy: A Novel sits on my "Dear Santa" list.

So you understand that I was thrilled to find that Red magazine features an interview and a home tour .

Pricelessly personal and very contemporary British.
Very much what makes my heart sing.

What's more the article is on-line (thank you, Red!)
and I can indulge in my love of Ms. Knight's propos recueillis.

Amanda Seyfried's new home

Amanda Seyfried is the young star of romantic and family movies like Mamma Mia! The Movie and Letters to Juliet(yet to be seen in this part of the world!).

And this is her new home. the quintessential New York condo, just out of a film set.
Situated in Greenwich Village, Devonshire House was built in 1928 and completely refurbished by uber-chic Parson's graduate Victoria Hagan.

A little too grown up, perhaps? We'll have to wait and see how she personalises it.
Will Ms. Hagan combine Amanda's bubbly side,

with the intellectual one, and the neighborhood's upper class bohemian chic? It remains to be seen.
Nice buy, Amanda. I hope you enjoy it!

Loulou love

The Decembre-Janvier issue of french magazine Atmospheres features one of my style egeries, French designer and YSL muse, Loulou de la Falaise.
In her own words:

'I like cotton, velvet and handmade fabrics such as kilims and blankets from the Atlas mountains. And I also have a weakness for bayadere (colourful striped cloth) - I put it everywhere!'

'My favourite materials are painted or gilded wood, lacquered objects, decorative paintwork and ceramics with a cracked surface.'

'I'm consistent in my tastes. I like bright, multi-hued fabrics and colours.'

'To find inspiration in everything can become automatic if you allow that little machine in your head to work.'

'Seated on my sofa by the enormous window, I dominate the entire space, and the light is magnificent.'

(Propos recueillis chez Daily Mail as extracted from Fashion Designers at Home . Shop photography dynamist on Flickr).

An interview with Mme de la Falaise can be found in Le Figaro. Her shop on 21 Rue Cambon, Paris, a few steps from Chanel (no 29).

Attic, dear

Our attic won't be dealt with until next year. We have lots and lots to finish at home, before we begin another project. This article from Design Sponge is bound to be useful, though. Check it out if you are planning an attic makeover. Fabulous!

Divine Cordelia

Back in 2007, I wrote this post about the house of Atalanta de Castellane, mother of the marvelous Cordelia, a personal style icon. Cordelia with Ségolène Gallienneare are the dynamic duo behind CdC, the chic children's clothing line.
She is the epitomy of relaxed, confident chic, and an authentic beauty (and she is half-Greek!).
Voici deaux photos de sa maison qui montrent que Cordelia et moi , nous sommes des esprits soeurs. We both lunch on, and we stock for our shop, if I may, a similar table, to say the least.

Bravo, Cordelia. Continuez de nous inspirer!
